In this four-week class, students will learn how to create a bas-relief portrait from life. Students will come away with valuable skills including techniques with tools, basic anatomy of the head, proper use of the materials used in the process, and how to control flattening out a three-dimensional object to something closer to a two-dimensional object. Bas Relief can be considered a bridge between painting and sculpture. If you enjoy painting portraits it should improve your portrait game. Or if you just want to get your hands in some clay this class with be great for you!
